Gene Stratton-Porter

September 16, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Curt Burnette, naturalist at the Limberlost State Historic Site, will discuss Gene Stratton-Porter’s life and career, as well as the destruction and rebirth of the Limberlost. The Limberlost Swamp was the perfect laboratory for author Gene Stratton-Porter to study nature. At a time when most women were homemakers, Porter created a lasting legacy of northern Indiana’s vanishing natural history through her writings and photos.
