Genealogy Workshop: Indiana Archives and Records Administration

Stuck in a genealogical rut? Vickie Casteel can move you into the 21st century. The director of patron services at the Indiana Archives and Records Administration will speak Wed., Aug. 24, at 7 pm in the Shelby County Public Library’s Carnegie East Wing. Hosted by the Genealogy and History Department in the Indiana Room, Casteel will explain the types of indexes and resources kept by the archives, how regular researchers can use these in building out their families’ genealogy, and how to access metadata through the Indiana Archives to worldwide genealogical information. This will assist people who need information from before their ancestors immigrated to the United States. This program is free for anyone to attend.
