Gage is a Senior this year at Columbus East High School and he is completing his Senior Project on Suicide Awareness and Prevention. He was inspired to do his project on suicide awareness and prevention after his father passed away from suicide in June 2016. Gage’s dad loved to golf! So, in honor of his father, Gage will be hosting a golf scramble as the fundraiser component of his project. He is hoping that this event will not only increase awareness about suicide within the community, but also minimize the stigma associated with suicide. He will be donating all the money raised from the event to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) which is a local organization. Gage still needs approximately thirty golfers to make this fundraiser a success. There will be other activities going on at the event to raise additional money as well, so if you don’t golf, but just want to come be a part of this wonderful cause, Gage would be very grateful! And, if you don’t golf or cannot attend, but would like to donate, monetary donations are very much appreciated as well! Gage can be reached at (812) 447-3147 with any further questions.
